Visitor Centers:

Painted Desert Visitor Center: Positioned within the park, this center provides information on the Painted Desert region, including scenic overlooks and hiking trails. How to get there:

From the West: If you’re coming from the west, take Interstate 40 eastbound towards Holbrook, Arizona. From Holbrook, continue east on I-40 and take exit 311 onto US-180 northbound towards Petrified Forest National Park. Follow US-180 for approximately 26 miles until you reach the park entrance.

From the East: If you’re traveling from the east, take Interstate 40 westbound towards Gallup, New Mexico. From Gallup, continue west on I-40 and take exit 311 onto US-180 northbound towards Petrified Forest National Park. Follow US-180 for approximately 26 miles until you reach the park entrance.
